We pour our hearts and souls into designing each of our tours – all our tours are professionally researched to uncover lesser-seen sides of Hong Kong. Our guides come from various backgrounds, each has plenty personal stories to share about this city.
In 2018 alone we organized over 600 tours around Hong Kong, serving over 7,000 participants. We have been featured in local and overseas media and have also been a recipient of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years since 2015. We’ve also worked with a wide range of corporate clients like Mandarin Oriental, British Airways, Reebok and the University of Hong Kong since our inception in August 2013.
Walk in Hong Kong is registered with the Hong Kong Government's Travel Industry Authority as a Licensed Travel Agent (No. 353919). We are also a member of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TICHK) and the Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents (HATA). What's more, our “Good Evening Kowloon” tour, “Hong Kong Movie Tour” and “What Do Ghosts Eat? Wan Chai Ghost and Food Tour” are officially endorsed and recommended by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, so you can make sure you're in safe hands when you're on any of our walking tours!
Yes, definitely! Our tours are extensively researched and thoughtfully designed so that everyone – whether you’re a first time visitor or Hong Kong native – would discover new facts and hidden gems in Hong Kong. If you’re a Hong Kong local, consider joining one of our theme-based tours such as the “Hong Kong Movie Tour: Tsim Sha Tsui”, “LGBT in the City” or the detective-themed “Stanley Mystery Tour”.
Yes, we will walk at a leisurely pace and our tour will usually gather and end at easily accessible locations. We don’t offer pickup and drop-off services on our public tours. Some of our public tours, for example “Old Town Central” and “Story of Kowloon in 6 Tasty Dishes”, might incorporate public transport as part of the authentic experience on offer, though.
Our “Good Evening Kowloon” tour is Hong Kong's first wheelchair accessible regular night tour! We've hosted countless tourists in wheelchair on this tour since 2016.
If you are a wheelchair user, please notify us after booking through our online system and we'll make the relevant arrangements.
It depends on what tour you're attending. Among our public tours, snacks are provided on “Old Town Central” and “What Do Ghosts Eat? Wan Chai Ghosts and Food Tour” while dinner and snacks are included in “Good Evening Kowloon.” If you’re interested in a food tour – join our “Story of Kowloon in 6 Tasty Dishes” or request a private booking of “Kowloon Walled City & Food Adventure”.
All scheduled tours listed on our website are public tours. If you want to make a private booking or request a specific tour time and date not listed on our website, you can commission a private tour. Moreover, we also work with different corporate and educational organisations to design and research private tours on specific topics. Contact us for more information.
Most of our regular tours are conducted in English. However, our guides are fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin – let us know and we will make the arrangement.

After booking your upcoming tour on our secured website, you will receive an automated confirmation email. You will then receive a reminder email with your tour details and your guide’s information at least a day prior to your tour.
If your tour is cancelled, we will inform you at least a day before and issue you a refund immediately.
The walk will be cancelled if the Red/ Black Rainstorm warning or Typhoon no. 8 signal or above is raised 3 hours before the tour. If we have to cancel the tour due to other bad weather conditions, we will contact you by phone (if no answer then we’ll send a SMS or email) no later than 2.5 hours before the tour.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the walk. Bring an umbrella and a bottle of water.
No, we do not (despite our name). Bookings could only be done in advance unless specifically stated otherwise. We won't allocate guides to tours if there isn't any bookings, so make sure you make your booking before the stated booking cutoff if you would like to join our tours.
We have hosted guests with various dietary restrictions on virtually all of our tours with food tastings. You will be asked to specify any dietary requirements or restrictions that you might have when booking our food tours on this website. If you're unsure, you are advised to contact us before making the booking to check if food tasting options for vegans or people with other dietary requirements / preferences are on offer.
