Kowloon City Through the Lens of Local University Students

Have you seen the movie Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In and wondered what the famed Kowloon Walled City is really like? Walk in Hong Kong recently organised a walking tour for a group of students from Hong Kong Baptist University, giving them a firsthand look at this culturally fascinating community.

Approximately 60 students enrolled in the school’s General Education course, “Historic Landmarks, Heritage, and Community,” to explore and understand the rich history and heritage of our community. This course aimed to deepen students’ knowledge of important historical landmarks in Hong Kong and their cultural significance. Through lectures, site visits, and video projects, the students gained insight into the value of heritage conservation and the archaeological and historical significance of various heritage sites.

Now, let’s watch the six video clips produced by the students and discover what they learned about the neighbourhood and its fascinating past!
