Walking Through a Century: Student Tours for Lee Gardens’ 100th Anniversary

As part of the Lee Hysan Foundation’s centenary celebrations, Walk in Hong Kong was commissioned to design and deliver an educational walking tour titled “Lee Gardens – 100 Years of Placemaking”, developed in conjunction with the public exhibition “The Colors of Causeway Bay”. Hosted by Hysan Development, the initiative offered students a unique opportunity to explore how urban placemaking has shaped the Causeway Bay district over the past century.

Our walking tour led participants through the streets and spaces of Lee Gardens, uncovering the evolution of its built environment, community culture, and commercial heritage. The tour concluded with a curated visit to the exhibition, where students reflected on placemaking through visual storytelling and archival displays. This project demonstrates our strength in delivering place-based learning programmes that connect young audiences with Hong Kong’s living urban history.
