This Tai O fishing village tour brought students into the diverse landscapes of Tai O, by land, water, and narrow lanes, allowing them to experience the serenity beauty of the village.
Students were divided into small groups to explore the intricate structure of stilt houses up close from boats, and witnessed Yau Yung, a unique local ritual with deep historical significance. They also visited the homes of Tai O villagers, taking part in mini activities such as a salted egg yolk workshop and stilt house living experience, gaining firsthand insight into daily village life.
The tour offered even more highlights. Students wandered through Tai O’s vibrant streets and alleys, visited historic sites like the Kwan Tai Temple, Tin Hau Temple, the murals, and Sun Ki Bridge. Throughout the journey, guides provided rich narratives that deepened the students’ understanding of Tai O’s cultural heritage.
