Experiences explained
Journeys into the soul of Hong Kong. Each experience is crafted to reveal the city through stories, people, and moments you won’t find in guidebooks.
Explore Kowloon City through its rich food culture and uncover the stories behind its transformation from the Walled City to today’s vibrant neighbourhood.
From the former Walled City to today’s “Food Paradise,” this tour traces the neighbourhood’s transformation through its people, culture, and food. With visits to Chiu Chow and Thai shops and tastings along the way, discover how history lives on in everyday flavours.
When talking about Kowloon City, many think of its reputation as a “Food Paradise” or “Little Thailand,” while others remember its past as the Kowloon Walled City. Today, these layers come together through both stories and flavours.
The tour begins at Kowloon Walled City Park, where we explore the history of the former Walled City and its extraordinary urban life. From there, we trace how food reflects the community’s past, tasting handmade fishballs linked to the Walled City and visiting a traditional Chiu Chow grocery store to experience everyday flavours of the neighbourhood.
As we walk through the district, we also uncover how waves of migration have shaped Kowloon City’s identity, turning it into one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant food neighbourhoods. Through tasting and storytelling, this tour offers a deeper way to understand the city, one bite at a time.
