A step towards broadening Hong Kong’s tourism appeal and achieving disabled rights in the city
Being in the midst of the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, audience around the world are being stunned by the athletes who push past their physical impairments to reach for their dreams.
In admiration of such inspiring individuals, Walk in Hong Kong and Diamond Cab are thrilled to announce Hong Kong’s first wheelchair-friendly regular night tour – Good Evening Kowloon! Come join us for a night adventure through dizzying array of markets, singing parlors, road-side restaurants and fortune tellers along Temple Street (Regular tour runs every Tue and Sat, 7:30-10:30 pm)

You are cordially invited to join our launching media tour on the night of Sep 27, 2016 (Tuesday) from 7 to 10 pm. We are honored that Srin Madipalli, CEO of Accomable, the world’s preeminent online platform to find disabled accessible hotels, vacation rentals and apartments, has specially flown in from London to attend the event to support our venture!
Walk in Hong Kong wishes to give everyone a chance to explore and learn about the enriching culture that defines Hong Kong, specializing in immersive and memorable experiences.
Diamond Cab is passionate about making a positive change in the society by increasing the mobility of the disabled. We are the pioneering taxi operator in Hong Kong that offers point-to-point transportation service for wheelchair users and also develops leisure and travel business.
Although wheelchair-friendly infrastructures are more commonly found nowadays, there is still a lot of room for improvement in creating a fully accessible society for everyone. There are encouraging signs in the city’s attitude toward disability too. Figures from The Equal Opportunities Commission show that the number of complaints related to discrimination based on disability has fallen from 500 in 2009 to 200 in 2014.
Through our tour, Diamond Cab and Walk in Hong Kong hope to enrich the travel experience of the disabled and increase their opportunity to explore Hong Kong that was not available to them previously. We hope that by introducing Hong Kong’s first wheelchair-friendly tour, which includes point-to-point Diamond Cab transfer, the city will make progress toward improving accessibility for all travelers and increasing awareness regarding discrimination against the physically impaired. We believe that our joint efforts will inspire more businesses to contribute toward a more wheelchair-friendly society.

香港首創輪椅友善本地文化遊
拓濶旅遊市場並實踐殘疾權利
現正在巴西舉行的里約殘疾人士奧運會，讓觀眾為一班追逐夢想的殘疾運動員而感動。「活現香港」及「鑽的」為殘疾運動員鼓舞的同時，很高興宣佈將攜手開創香港輪椅友善的本地文化夜遊–細味夜九龍﹗
誠意邀請大家加入這個夜遊歷險，沿著廟街穿梭於熱鬧夜市、平民夜總會、路邊大排檔和占卦相士等有趣文化景點。此導賞團將逢星期二、六晚上七時半至十時半舉行。
爲了慶祝這個香港獨有的體驗，我們很榮幸邀請到世界首創殘障通達住宿的網上平台Accomable 創辦人Srin Madipalli, 從倫敦遠道而來，參與和支持首次的輪椅友善的本地文化遊。現邀請 貴傳媒機構派員採訪:

「活現香港」希望給每人帶來探索和學習香港獨有而豐盛的文化的機會，致力為旅客帶來親切而難忘的旅遊體驗。
「鑽的」致力提高殘障及行動不便人士出行的自由度，為社會帶來正面的改變。我們是香港無障礙的士服務的先驅，不單止提供點到點交通接載，亦同時發展無障礙休娛及旅遊的業務。
雖然現時香港輪椅友善的基建愈來愈普及，但要創造一個全面通達的社會仍有一段距離。慶幸的是，從數字反映，友善意識的確提高了，平等機會委員會接收有關殘疾歧視投訴由2009年的500宗大幅下跌至2014年的200宗。
透過我們的本地遊，鑽的和活現香港希望加強殘疾人士的旅遊體驗，增加他們探索香港的機會，這是從來被忽略的市場。我們希望推出首個本地輪椅友善旅遊路線，包括無障礙的士接載，讓香港進一步加強通達的意識，讓所有旅客也能穿梭暢遊。我們也相信這合作，可以啟發更多商界積極回應優化香港成為輪椅友善的城市。
