Paul Chan enjoys more than ever, sharing his hometown Hong Kong with people from ‘all walks of life.’

What’s your story?
My backpacking trip to Europe in 2004, the first long trip ever in my life, changed my fate forever. It ignited my burning desire for travelling, (I have visited 85 countries so far) and was amazed by the walking tour culture in different cities of Europe. It sowed the seed for my little dream of starting a similar venture in Hong Kong. Therefore, after successive stints in academia, public affairs, media, government and finance, I decided to be an entrepreneur and co-founded Walk in Hong Kong in 2013, with the hope of bringing out the most entertaining, inspiring and authentic Hong Kong experiences with our unique and well-designed walking tours.

What excites you most about your industry?
The opportunities to meet interesting people from all walks of lives – milk tea competition champion, talkative nanny, letterpress master, passionate young lads who set up meaningful social enterprises, nerds who happen to know everything about some very niche topics on Hong Kong, just to name a few.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I am born and grew up in Hong Kong and have been living in this city for more than three decades.
