MTR Tuen Ma Line full opening flagship programme

To celebrate the full opening of the Tuen Ma Line (TML) in 2020/2021, the MTR Corporation has joined hands with Walk In Hong Kong to launch the “Tuen Ma Line – Renews the city’s vitality” flagship programme. Over 50 Cultural Ambassadors recruited were trained to host 18 free real-time online guided tours for the general public on designated weekends from May to October, 2021.

In order to deepen the ambassadors’ knowledge of the areas surrounding the new Sung Wong Toi (SUW) and To Kwa Wan (TKW) stations, and to inspire them to share the stories of TKW and Kowloon City districts to the public in an interactive and interesting manner, a series of workshops with themes of storytelling, tour guiding and acting were arranged.

The well-trained ambassadors led the lovingly-designed virtual tours for the community to explore the area’s treasures and vitality along the TML, as well as how the new line brings out the uniqueness of local arts and culture. Precious historical stories, interesting neighbourhood memories and fun stories of the project team during the construction of the TML were shared on the tours. Pre-recorded street drama performances and vivid presentations will also be used to deepen the public’s understanding of the community as well as the new train service.
